Message from the Developer of
Saddlebrook Farms
My name is
Chuck Fanaro. I am the developer of Saddlebrook Farms. I want to
share with you why Saddlebrook Farms exists, and, if you are 55
years old or over, why Saddlebrook Farms represents more than just
a new home. It offers a unique lifestyle. It’s the kind of
lifestyle that people who have worked hard all their lives deserve

Saddlebrook Farms is the result of 30 years of experience —
30 years of my life thinking about and observing the needs of relatives,
friends, and people in general who were entering what should be
a new and exciting time of their lives.
As I watched my family and friends grow older, I noticed their changing
needs. Their children were raised and out on their own. Some owned
big houses that were aging right along with them. Maintenance and
upkeep required more and more of their time, energy, and money.
Costs were going up and incomes threatened to go down, basically
because of retirement.
My own father discovered that his knees didn’t seem to like
stairs as much as they once did and that his back resisted shoveling
snow and mowing the lawn. And, as he looked around the area in which
he lived for so many years, it no longer seemed to fit his idea
of a “good life.”
Now, don’t misunderstand. I know that change can be good. It
is natural and a fact of life. But, clearly, I felt that there had
to be a better way for my father to spend his days and his money.
So we sat down and made a list of his "wants and wishes."
I would like to mention just a few:
He wanted:
- A home,
not an apartment.
- An attached
garage so he could unload groceries without struggling with stairs
or bad weather.
- A place
where he could be active, yet not be burdened with upkeep and
maintenance.
- A home and

- An environment
that was safe and that, if there were an emergency, someone would
respond quickly.

who weren't rock musicians and who didn't have children prone
to skateboarding or riding their ten-speed bikes in the path of
his daily walks.

As I talked
to others in this age group, I confirmed that these “wants
and wishes” were similar to theirs. And, as I listened to them
tell me their stories, I knew that they deserved to have these things.
After all, they worked hard, they went to war, they raised their
children, they stayed out of trouble, and they had made their contribution
to society. It was time for them to relax and enjoy life. Yet, where
